THE ADVENTURES OF ELDER CAMPBELL AND ELDER STEERS February 17, 2020

Friends and family! Today is a good one!!!!

So on Tuesday, Elder Steers and I went to Guayaquil to get our feet checked out. My toenails and his warts on his feet. My experience was just amazing. So my toe was basically totally purple at this time, so when I got into the office, I told the doctor that it hurt even to put the slightest of pressure on it, hoping that maybe she would give me something to help the pain. Nope, she just went right to work and stuck the knife right into the back of my toenail haha! My face puffed up as a pufferfish trying not to scream. She finally got it out and wow, it was bad. But we are doing a lot better! Now I can walk without pain!!!! After that, Sister Alarcon came and helped us get to our next appointment across Guayaquil for Elder Steers. We got there like 5 minutes before the appointment though, so we had to run through a shopping center to find a grocery store that had a doctors office on the inside of it (are you as lost as I was?) We got their right in time at 3 to find there was a line to wait in. We got to the front of the line at 3:15 and they told us that the appointment had already fallen through and that we had to reschedule for another day. Ah, we were so bummed. I called sister Alarcon and she was bummed too. I decided we needed some Oreo shakes to brighten us up. Right after buying the shakes, sister Alarcon calls us back and says "go back to the office and ask to talk to the director." I was like, "ah yeah fantastic two gringos are going into a doctors office demanding to be seen." hahaha!!! So I go back and talk a little to the front desk girl and she tells me that the director had gone out to lunch. I called sister Alarcon and told her that and she told me "let me talk to who you are talking to." In that instant, the front desk lady had picked up the phone and was talking to someone else. Sister Alarcon then told me, "Elder: You have to keep on going! Keep on walking into the office and call for the director!!!" I was like, wait, what you just want me to charge into the office??? hahaha!! I waited a second and the front desk lady finally took the phone. They talked a second and she gave the phone back. She told me we got an appointment. I told that to Sister Alarcon and she just yelled "Bingo! We did it!!" hahaha! We did it without infiltrating the system haha!! We celebrated after the appointment with another Oreo shake. Later on, on our bus ride home, the bus got pulled over by police officers and they made everyone get off. They then frisked everyone. It was a day full of experiences if I have ever heard of one haha!!

This week,I had the chance to openly talk with one of the people we are teaching. He asked me the question of how my life was before I had entered the gospel. I told him that I was baptized when I was 8 years old, but that I was converted when I was 17. He told me that he was getting lost in all the guilt that he was feeling in his life, that happiness just wasn't something he could feel. But he had faith in God to keep on living his life. I told him that I was in the exact same place with my life. And that I had the exact same faith. And that it was for that faith that I had that I asked my Father in Heaven if He loved me and He told me that He did and that ever since that day, I have been a changed person. I could tell that he wanted the exact same thing in his life. I told him that the only thing he needed to do was ask God. I love being able to share how God has made me into the man that I am today.

I invite all of you to ask your Father in Heaven if He loves you. I promise you that He will answer. I know that He will because He answered me.

I love you all so much!! Have the best week ever!!!
