Hello Friends and family! I sure hope you are all doing so amazing!!!
Here we go- let's do this!
So this week, we had a missionary planned activity where we invited everyone in our sector to watch "meet the (members of the church of Jesus Christ)" and tons of people came!!! But it was so so stressful because the activity started at 7 and our branch president was helping us out getting the projector to show the movie and he didn't show up until 7 because of work troubles and then when I put my usb into the projector it didn't read it... so we got out the dvd player and put it in that one and it didn't work either... at that point, I just didn't know what to do and then a member said we could run to her house and bring her laptop to plug in and show it. We took off sprinting the 10 minute walk to her house and we got there and back to the church in five minutes and once we had the laptop everything went good haha!! I was so sweaty. Basically describes my life here in Ecuador.
One of the people I used to teach in Valencia sent me a gift this week telling me that she was going to start listening to the missionaries again!!!! She's 19 years old and was riiiiiiggggghhhtt about to be baptized -we are talking day before- and she had already chosen me to baptize her, when her mom told her that if she changed religions, she wasn't going to talk to her anymore and wasn't going to support her. After that, she couldn't meet with us and ah it was really sad. She told me though that she is going to share all of her testimony with her mother and do all she can to be baptized!
I had a clown house experience this week that just makes me laugh so hard haha! We got to a lesson one day with someone we had only had one contact with and right when we sat down and started talking, her drunk son comes up driving on his motorcycle screaming, "WHERES THE CHICKEN?" and she just screams back, "THERE IS NO CHICKEN!" Then he parks his motorcycle and walks over to the old grandpa that's standing in the corner of the yard. He's blind and just kind of walks around everywhere in the streets. The drunk son puts his hand in the grandpas pocket and steals 5 dollars from him. The grandpa realized that he took money from him and then got the money back and just started smacking him with his cane. He got back on his motorcycle and drove away. Then the grandpa came over and started mumbling something that I didn't understand completely to the lady we were talking with, but it was right in the middle of her answering the question I had asked her and she just yelled, "GET THEE HENCE SATAN! The devil just really doesn't want me to focus on what you young men have to say!" All I can say is, I sure love these people haha!!!!
love you all- I hope you have such an amazing week!!!!
