Friends and Family -we lived through Carnaval!!!! I stuck my head out the window for a while to see what was going on and I got hit with a water balloon but we made it almost the whole time without getting wet haha!!
We were with two Columbians this week and talking about the restoration. One payed a lot of attention and the other kinda on her phone and actually left for most the lesson. When she came back, I felt the prompting to ask her when the last time she received an answer from God was. She told me never. That she had gone through lots of things in her life and that she didn't know why God was punishing her right now. She had just barely came to Ecuador from Columbia and was with her newborn. I shared with her that I, even though I don't know what she is going through, that I knew that life can be really hard at times. I told her though that God never punishes us or puts us through trials. That a loving Heavenly Father would never do that. I told her that it's Satan that puts the trials in our lives, but God lets us go through them so we can grow our faith and learn to trust in Him because if we trust in Him, He will raise us up through any trial we go through. I told her that God not only loves her, but walks by her side in everything. Especially through this hard time. She almost started to cry. I could tell the spirit was able to testify to her of my words. She hadn't been to a church for basically her whole life but she came with us yesterday! I'm happy to see how things go with both of them!
The Columbian that did pay attention the whole time told me that she had seen missionaries before and some kinda like me (gringo) but taller. She was telling me about one she had seen, "and he was just sooooo tall and I was just in awe I didn't know what to say!!! And then there was a normal one like you." she said as she pointed to my companion hahahaha!!! Everyone started laughing and my companion says, "you called my companion an alien." hahah!!
I love the mission so much! I love you all so much too!!! Have a great week!!!
