Friends and family- here we are at Christmas time!!! Sadly, my last one in the mission. Making the best out of it because my President changed p-day to today!!
This week was great! We went out and had a lot of family home evenings with nonmembers and also with inactive member families and it was just so amazing. We had so many families come to church that haven't come in so long! It's so good to see the branch coming together again. There are still many more things that we need to do, but we are getting there! Picture down below!
Here, everyone trains the dogs to stay outside while other people are in the house. Well, at least they try to teach them. If the dog walks in while there is a visit, the owner just yells, "leave!" over and over again and then just gives up when the dog does nothing. The other day that happened, but the 4 year old child goes up to the dog that is its same size and just roundhouse kicks the poor thing in the face until it left hahaha!!! Where am I?? haha!!
We had our Christmas activity and it was amazing!!! My mission presidents wife made us all turkey and I'm just so happy to eat something that's not chicken or rice. I also sang in the Christmas talent show. A solo. I've never sang before in all my life. Everyones ears were bleeding haha!
During this season, everyone here makes something called monigotes. Basically just huge piñatas that represent something about their year. Could be like a movie or a person or something like that. They then fill them up with a bunch of explosives and then blow them up on New Years Eve. Long story short, New Years Eve is basically going to be a war zone here haha!! Don't worry though, a member made us me and my companion one for the house (it does not contain fireworks). His name is Elder Bautizador.
I love you all so much and I hope that you have an amazing Christmas! Look for people you can serve this season. Help the people in need. Jesus of Nazareth traveled doing good, you can too.
