Hello friends and family once again!!! I have more for you this week!
This week, I got tired of crappy Ecuadorian foot care, so I had my companion take out my ingrown toenail. He is fresh out of the military and he said he took them out all the time. He showed no mercy at all haha!! He just attacked my foot!!!! But I mean, it feels a little better now. Guess we will see if military style is better than Ecuadorian style! One thing is for sure though, military style hurt a heck of a lot more.
This week we had three baptisms! The other Elders had found them, but we finished off their teaching and now they are members of the church. They have tons of friends in the church already! Their parents are very soon to follow!
My heart is really happy this week knowing that someone named Sebastian from my old sector finally took the decision to get baptized after 5 months of teaching. His wife is a member but he had a few problems with alcohol and drugs. His marriage was falling apart, but he didn't really want to change. About 2 weeks before I left, we showed him a video from the 12 steps to change videos from the church. We showed him video 2. It really touched his heart and changed his whole life. From that moment, he stopped drinking and cut off all the bad things in his life. I can't describe the great change that I saw in his life. I am sad because I couldn't be there to see it, but I am beyond happy that the Lord is spilling out his blessings upon him and his family.
Today I was getting my haircut. The haircut place was right in front of the persons house like it always is here, so right inside the shop was the door to her house. The door to her house cracked open and I saw a little girl peak around the corner. She saw me and then slammed the door. There was a little glass window and a curtain to cover it on the door and five minutes later, I saw the curtain move over and a flash go off as the little girl took a picture of me. Gringos are just such oddities here haha!
I love you all so much! We are doing such good work out here in Ecuador. I am so excited to keep it up and look for ways to bless the peoples lives!!
