Family and friends I've got a wacky one for you but such a cool experience!
We sat down into a lesson with some new people who decided about halfway through the lesson that they didn't want to be sober anymore. So they started getting drunk.... The man next to me then kept on asking me which way of the fence I swung... now normally in these types of situations, you get up and leave. The only reason that we stayed was because in the back corner of the room out of the 8 people that were drinking, was one of the only people that listened to us when we told them that God has revealed to us that we should stay away from alcohol. We were able to share the whole restoration with him (even with all the noise and awful questions they were asking us) and he told us that he wanted to come back and share the whole lesson again with the rest of his family. He told us about the story of his life and about how he's been trying to turn around from falling apart after his wife had died. He is now one of our strongest people we are teaching and he is progressing nicely. Gods servants find Gods children in the weirdest of ways.
Speaking of weird ways to find Gods children, we were walking and some people called us over and said "share the word with us!" So they let us in and sat us down and explained to us that we had just walked in to a rehab center and that they were all working to get unaddicted. They also shared that before hand they would have done anything to get drug money, such as kill someone for 5 dollars. Not gonna lie, I got a little freaked out, but then we started sharing about why we were here from far away and they all started explaining about how they were on the search to being able to find God in their life... That was honestly one of the most powerful hour talks I've had on my mission.
I guess you could say that this week we just found the hidden gold mines haha!
