This week I ate rotten meat and drank water from a hole in the ground. THE WORK CONTINUES!
So we visited a family and right before we were about to leave the kid ran out with two empty cups asking if we wanted water. I was super confused because the cups were empty, but he ran up to where they wash their clothes, turned on the spicket that leads to who knows where, and filled the cups. Me and my comp looked at each other with a look of terror in our eyes as we downed the water. Then they came out with some pipping hot soup. my comp took a bite and then asked me if my meat was rotten under his breath. I took a bite and almost died hahahaha!!!! after we downed that, we ran to the nearest lemonade vender and downed like 2 dollars of lemonade. I can feel the effects of it. We good!
The other elders in our sector had 2 baptisms! but when they were filling the font, the water stopped working. We then took buckets and filled them outside of the church and brought them in to fill the font. we did this for 2 hours and still only had enough water for knee deep water. They were baptized!!!!
We were teaching a new family and we were going around to get to know their names when I noticed the Oldest lady I have ever seen in the back corner sitting in a wheel chair. throughout the lesson, she made many attempts to stand up but the daughter just pushed her back into her chair and said "you are going to fall!" Near the end of the lesson, she succeeded in getting up, but then started to fall. The daughter caught her and then attempted to get her back into the chair just yelling "I told you!" all while the grandma was just screaming. Definitely one of the most interesting lessons I've been a part of. But hey the family is progressing!!!
We have a baptism coming up this week! Viviana Yanqui will be baptized this Saturday! more on when it, you know, actually happens.
Good things here in Ecuador! The time just keeps flying by! I love you all so much!!!!!
