Happy New Year a todos!!!!! Hope everyone is just bringing it in so well and basking in the goodness! Keep on with your new years resolutions!
Yes! I just got the call today that I am leaving Plant City and going to another part of Florida called Largo! Or to every missionary "paradise." I guess it is like the most coveted place in the mission and we are treated like royalty. Sounds good to me haha! We will find out how it actually is though! I go tomorrow with Elder Young who I haven't met though but have only heard good things of. I am so excited to meet some more people! But I am going to miss the randomness of Plant City as well. Sad to leave but hey, the world needs me.
New Years Eve!!!!! All of our lessons fell through. We got to walk the streets and see all the fireworks going off! At the end of the night, we walked by some people who were partying and lighting off mortars and I called over with a huge hello and received 5 slurred "wooooooooooo's!" I asked if they had a firework to send us off with and the man said "We absolutely do!" We walked over and talked a second and said we were from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, then the dude calls out "are you ready!!" lights the fuse and yells "This ones for the Church of Latter-Day saints!!!" Nooooooo he was so close!!!! Everyone down here just doesn't understand that we believe in Jesus Christ haha!
We were talking to one of our good friends John this week. Out of nowhere, his wife started talking about some dude named Popeye. I was like "why do you call him Popeye? Is he like super strong or something?" John looked at me and said "no, its because his eye pop out when we were kids and the ambulance had to come and pop it right back in!" Ah yes perfect I should have known hahaha!
We also had the privilege this week of getting a family of 8 recent converts ready to go and do baptisms for the dead together! They have been struggling some with the church and we are so happy that they are able to get to go and have this experience together as a family. We were about to get special permission from the President to go with them to do it this Saturday but I will not be in the area anymore! I am sad to leave all the people I have met behind, but so so so happy for the joy I have seen come to this family as they have prepared to enter the Lords house.
I love you all and I can't wait to tell you all the new goods about the new area when I get there! I am so excited to work super hard and keep converting people to the truth!
For all my district that has all made it to Ecuador now, I love you all and save some miracles for me. I'll be there soon!
