Winding down the year of 2018! Getting ready to take a huge step into my full year of service to the Lord in 2019! I am super excited for this great opportunity that I have to serve the Lord. No matter where that might be!
Congratz to my brother Brayden for finally being a man! Savannah super excited to have you as a member of the Campbells!
Lots of great stuff happened this week that I am super excited about! This week was one of the most spiritual experiences that I have had with Spanish. You can learn the words but for me it took a lot more time to actually have meaning behind those words. This week we met a man who is out here working and providing for his family in Mexico. We actually meet a lot of people like that. Well he had been really struggling with that and he actually started to cry while he was explaining his situation to us. I felt the spirit come over me so strong and words just started flowing. I testified of the love that the savior has for him and that he can find peace and comfort in his life through prayer and reading in the book of mormon. He was super touched by all the things I had to say and ah, I just know we are so guided to the people who need us in this work.
Kind of a similar experience happened Saturday as well. We met this man named Olivo in the streets and he told us we could come back. When we were coming back up to his house (he was outside watering the garden without a shirt on), he looked at us, dropped his hose, and pointed at me and said "you are an angel from God." Then did the same to my companion, then invited us inside. We started off with a prayer but right when I said amen I looked up to see him crying. He then tells us about how his wife and children left him about a year ago and how he was just so lonely and that he knew nothing would fix it. Me and Elder Bailey both testified of trials in our lives and that God gives us trials so that we can grow and be happy. The spirit came over me and I made him a solid promise that if he read in the book anytime he felt lonely or sad, he would feel joy. That power sent his tears over the edge. We spent the next 15 minutes hugging shirtless Olivo. What a man :)
I also accomplished one of my goals for being here in Florida this week! I got a Jehovahs witness to take a book of mormon. Actually, he asked us for it! (it is basically a law for Jehovahs not to take other religious material). We found a family outside talking to each other and we went over and started talking and having fun and they were super interested in everything we had to say! It ended with the mom asking us what we thought about Jehovahs witnesses. We said we are different but that everyone that is trying is at least trying to do what is right. She laughed super hard and pointed to her son who was the Jehovahs and said "well thats one right there holding your book!" hahaaha!
Christmas was also awesome! Thank you all so much for the amazing things you sent to me! Emails, letters, Ties, candy, Utah rocks, and one sweatshirt that is just dang amazing hahaha!
I love you all so much and I know with all my heart that this church is true!!!! Keep that in mind this new years! Make some goals to come closer to christ! See the miracles that he is trying to pour out upon your heads!!!!!
Until next week!
