You tighten the belt!
Family and Friends! How amazing it is to be back with all of you and tell you about another fantastic week in the service of the Lord! Always amazing things going on out here but there is something even more important to start off with!
Congratulations to my sister Maddie!! Her baby has arrived! Baby Flora is just on time for their anniversary and also to be a halloween baby! Probably just what Maddie wanted haha! I have seen so many pictures and I just love her already! I can't wait for the opportunity to see her grow even more and actually get to see her when I skype home!
Now, onto the mission!
Lets start off with a horror story as it is close to Halloween. Mom, this one might make you cringe.
On Wednesday, My comp and I had the opportunity to go and help give some service to a member who lives on like the edge of our boundaries. We got there and all we had to do was move a bunch of stuff into the house. Nothing different from the work I used to do at home when my dad was the Elders Quorum President hahaha! So we were thinking that we were going to be fantastic and get it done right quick. Well of course not. To our horror, this house was a hording house. As in not only did they not get rid of old clothes and couches, but also trash. Oh man I love the people down here but wow. Cockroaches and bugs everywhere! Made you jump out of your shoes hhaha! So we were moving everything and trying to get things done as fast as possible because the members parents were there but they weren't members and decided to follow us around while they were smoking. We were in there dodging corners and stuff and just finding so many weird things. My comp accidentally knocked a picture off the wall and luckily it didn't break but I think it is because it fell on the huge cockroaches that was hiding behind the picture hahaa! We got done and went and took a nice shower and all good laughs haha!
This town is like perfect for me. Everyone is interesting in like the best way! I have never had a boring day because there is always a party going on or something like that. I don't know how to describe this town other than basically a podcast. It's almost too different to be real hahah! But like I said I love it with all my heart and there are many amazing people to be found and taught here! I can't wait for them all to heed our message!
We have a lot more people to teach now that we have been here longer than three days and many of these people are just honestly gifts from heaven and we can already see them being strong in the faith! I will keep you updated on more as time goes by and dates get more serious for baptism!
I only have time for one more little story though. We were contacting in an area that we had only heard of before and we think it was the first time missionaries had ever seen the area haha! We came across a man that was in his car that we had some interest in talking to and it seemed like he was interested as well. We kept talking to him for a while but we could tell that he was a little off. He kept bobbing his head and he just seemed so out of this world. Come to know, He was soooooooo high hahaha! We didn't stay for long but he kept telling us the same story of how he would climb the tallest tree next to his house and just fall out backwards to scare the neighbors hahah! I love the people here and we always have something to laugh about!
Diana is back from jail and sent us a text that she wants to come to church! How amazing! I will keep you updated haha!
As one of our bible references said after we had only texted her twice
"I really like you and you inspire me"
I love you all and I hope you have an amazing week!
