Don't be alarmed at the title that is a story for later haha!!
How is it going everyone!!!!! It is so amazing to finally be here in Florida! Everyone here is so amazing and so interesting and all you need to know is that dang do I have some stories for all of you!!
Lets get started shall we?
Well so I left the MTC on Wednesday morning and that was quite the day! so much going on and honestly so much stress as well hahaha! But I was super excited to finally be in the real world with actually people! I had the hardest time calling everyone elder at first haha! When we finally got on the plane, Some of the other missionaries coming to Tampa also sat next to me so I wasn't totally alone. But I sat next to someone that wasn't from the MTC. No, he was from the real world! Here is the story of my guy Lando. I sat in silence for a while reading my scriptures but I kept having the prompting to talk to him. I looked over though and of course he was watching dead pool 2. Amazing. Well so I told myself that if I got the opportunity to speak, then I would. About 5 minutes later, he looked at me and then showed me something out the window. There couldn't have possibly been a better opportunity! So I started talking and getting to know him better. At around the end of our flight, I told him what it is we were going off to do and then talked about the book of mormon with him. He said he didn't have any interest. Dang. But I bore my testimony on it and told him that if he were to ever get the opportunity to read it, that I hope he will because it might just change his life. Lando, wherever you might be in the world, I offer you my best my friend.
I met my trainer! What an amazing guy! His name is Elder Bailey and man are we working so hard. I love it so much. We really only walk around trailer parks and contact people because we gotta go to where the people are but they are so amazing! We've talked to a lot of great people and also taught a few lessons. The title though! So we were contacting and we came to a guy that had many tattoos and was smoking so we went over to him and started to talk. Right when we started, he stood up, opened his arms out wide and said "I'm Muslim!" we were like what the heck hahaha! Then we started talking a little bit more, then he slapped us with a final "praise allah" and then he walked off. Many interesting things happen here hahaha!
By the way, I am serving in Plant City and it is rightfully named so because there are so many plants!
Now, a short story
*knock knock*
"yes?"
"Hi! We are missionaries from the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints and we were wondering if Diana was home! She said we could come to church last week but she didn't and we haven't heard from her since."
"She ain't here."
"ah, well that's okay. Do you know when she will be back?"
"nah."
"well, do you know where she is?"
"Jail."
DOH
Other than that, not much else to report on. The field is honestly so great and I love it here. We have a great opportunity with a girl named Aimee who came to church this week after having one lesson! And she brought her 4 kids who loved it! I will keep you updated on everything to come!
I don't have pictures though because this is a phone mission so we don't carry bags but I don't have a phone so i carry nothing and I don't just carry my camera around. But pictures will come soon!!
I love you all but always know that God loves you more!
